Lucy Tannler of Medfield passed away peacefully at the Tippett Home in Needham surrounded by her loving family.  Most of Lucy’s years growing up were spent in upstate New York, where she was one of nine children.  She attended Nazareth College earning a teaching degree.  She taught high school and college level business education.  Lucy received commendations from the bureau of business education from the state of New York for teaching excellence.  After moving to Medfield in 1971 she taught at the Medfield High School for 18 years, and also helped coordinate graduation exercises as well as working with the booster club. 

Lucy was a woman of strong faith.  She often was found in the kitchen where she took great pleasure in preparing meals and desserts for the holidays or frequent family gatherings.

Lucy was predeceased by her beloved husband Charles Tannler.  As a cherished grandma, she touched our lives in many ways and will live on forever.  She was truly a one of a kind grandma and a friend too.  Lucy was known as “GiGi” to her great grandchildren, Lucy and Ben Friscino who adored her company and kept her busy.  Also, great grandmother to Deven and Dominic Tannler of Alton, IL.

Loving mother of Robert and his wife Lynn Tannler, Joan and her husband Gary Miner all of Medfield, Barbara White of Holliston and the late Gregory and his wife Patty.  Grandmother of Kyle and Clay Tannler, Gregory, Jeffery, Stephanie, Valerie and John Henry Miner, Kristine Friscino, Dane and Hannah Tannler.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Lucy’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 4-8PM and Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 9-9:30AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring Street, Medfield.  Interment will follow in Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Medfield Food Pantry, 496 Main Street, Medfield, MA  02052.
