Lucy Evelyn Rozanski

March 14, 1921 — February 26, 2020

Lucy Evelyn (Farretta) Rozanski, age 98, passed away peacefully in the Victoria Haven Nursing Facility in Norwood, Massachusetts on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Josephine (D’Aloia) Farretta.  She was raised in Roslindale and attend Roslindale Public Schools.
 
Lucy was married to her first husband Robert Hennessey for nearly 20 years. Several years after he passed, she married Charles (Marty) Rozanski. They were happily married for over 45 years.
 
Throughout her life, she embraced her Italian heritage.  She was a long-time member of the Sons of Italy in Norwood.  She held many positions in the woman’s auxiliary, including president.
 
She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Marty. They made several trips to Italy, as well as other destinations. Lucy loved being in her kitchen cooking meals for friends and family. She was well known for delicious Italian specialties. “Nana’s sauce” was always a favorite.  She also had  “green thumb” and could make anything blossom.
 
Beloved wife of the late Charles Martin Rozanski.
Loving mother of Kathleen Hennessey of Thomaston, Clare Maypother of Worcester, and Charles Rozanski, Jr. of Kansas City.
Cherished grandmother of Russell Arey, Robert Arey, Karmen Arey Leary, Richard Maypother, and Erin Maypother and great grandmother of Olivia E. Leary.
Sister of Richard Farretta of Arizona, William Farretta of Arizona, the late Anthony Farretta, the late Marie Dello Russo, the late Joseph Farretta, the late Thomas Farretta the late Rita Emmanuel, the late Diana Hughes, the late Patrick Farretta, the late Edward Farretta, and the late Robert Farretta.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
 
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 9 to 10:30 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM.  Interment take place privately at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon, Massachusetts.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Medfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 271, Medfield, MA 02052.
