Louise E. Iagatta-Everett, “Lulu” age 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at her home in Walpole, Massachusetts, with her loving husband by her side. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on August 15, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Josephine (Santomarco) Iagatta. She was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1961. Following her graduation, Lulu earned her hairdresser's certificate from the Wilfred Academy of Cosmetology in Boston.
Lulu's career began in a salon in Norwood before she took a position with Ken Tracy at ‘Frank's Hair Salon’ on East Street in Walpole. In the early 1970s, she branched out on her own, opening ‘Lulu's Place’ in Walpole center. After several years in Walpole center, the building which ‘Lulu’s Place’ operated, switched owners and ‘Lulu’s Place’ was forced to close. Lulu took a position with ‘Coiffeur Corner’ in Norwood, before returning to Walpole, re-opening her shop, ‘Lulu's Place’ across the street from her original location. She was also a member of the Walpole Chamber of Commerce. As a businesswoman in the Town of Walpole, Lulu was asked to join the Centennial Committee, providing guidance to town officials for the big celebration of the community that she loved so much.
Lulu married her beloved husband, Robert B. Everett, on January 25, 1987, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole. Together, they made their home in Walpole, and Lulu continued operating her salon until her retirement in 2016. In her retirement, Lulu picked up some days, working part time, at Marilyn's Hair Salon in Walpole.
When she wasn't hard at work, Lulu enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, Bob. They looked forward to alternating between exploring destinations throughout the United States and international travel; Italy, always holding a special place in her heart. Lulu enjoyed a night out at the theater, getting together with friends, spending time with ‘her girls’ or gathering with her fellow members for a meeting of the Emblem Club, where she held many positions over the years. Most of all, Lulu loved being surrounded by her large Italian family; enjoying get togethers, special occasions or parties that joined everyone together.....Lulu WAS the party!
