Louis Francis Rowean, age 80, died in his East Walpole, Massachusetts home on Sunday, May 3, 2015. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 7, 1935, he was the son of the late Louis F. and Edna Mary (Griffiths) Rowean. He graduated from Dover Sherborn High School with the class of 1953. He continued his education at Fitchburg State College, graduating in 1959. Shortly after graduation he took a teaching position with Rockland High School in the Industrial Arts Department.
In 1961, Louis took a position with the Metal Bellows Corporation in Sharon, Massachusetts, which began his career in Tooling Design. He was later promoted to Product Design Engineer and finally to New Product Development Engineer. It was while working in Sharon, that Louis made his home in Walpole, Massachusetts in 1965.
Louis began his 26 year long career with the Polaroid Corporation in Norwood, Massachusetts in August of 1969. He began as a Tooling/Vendor Engineer before being promoted to Manufacturing Manager. In 1971, he graduated from Northeastern University with his Master's Degree. After his retirement in October of 1995, he began his own company, Rowean Consultants, working with both Safety First and Nautica.
Throughout his life, Louis enjoyed landscaping, he built many stone and brick walls into his landscape designs. In addition, he built snowboarding helmets.
As an avid Boston Celtics Fan, he enjoyed playing basketball as well as coaching both youth basketball and baseball. Louis' family meant the world to him, as a devoted husband, he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Loving father of Kim A. Rowean-Finley and her husband Michael of East Walpole, Cheryl A. Berglund of East Walpole and Robert F. Rowean and his wife Diane of Mansfield.
Cherished grandfather of Stefanie, Kyle, Colby and Kennedy.
Brother of Donald Rowean and his wife Patricia of CA, Bill Rowean and his wife Dot of Medfield and Robert Rowean and his wife Brenda of FL.
Brother in law of Marilyn and her husband Chet Roman of Westwood, Rose Bardsley and her family of Boylston, the late Ralph and his wife Pat McDargh, the late Marsha Zinnack.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Louis' Life Celebration on Thursday from 4 to 7PM and Friday from 10 to 10:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church, 176 Washington St., East Walpole at 11AM. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery in Dover. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Catholic Charities Boston, 51 Sleeper St., Boston, MA 02210.
