Lois Anne (King) Jennings, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at her home in Walpole, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Thomas S. and Alma E. (Blois) King. She was raised in Roslindale, where she graduated from Roslindale High School with the Class of 1958. Lois continued her education at Boston State College, earning her bachelor’s degree with the Class of 1962. Following her graduation, Lois took her first teaching position in Roxbury with the Boston Public School System.
Lois married her beloved husband, Craig E. Jennings, on July 28, 1963, at the Church of Our Savior in Brookline. The young couple initially made their home in Hyde Park, where they welcomed two children, Karen and Craig. After moving to Marlborough, Massachusetts in 1968, Lois and Craig welcomed their daughter Pamela. While living in Marlborough, Lois spent several years raising her 3 children before resuming her teaching career, working as an elementary school teacher at the Mitchell School.
In 1978 she and Craig settled in Walpole, Massachusetts, where Lois took a position with the Fisher School, serving as a special education teacher. As a devoted Christian, Lois became an active member of the community at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Walpole, where she and Craig enthusiastically volunteered their time together. While home was in Walpole, beginning in 1994, Lois looked forward to spending the summer on the Cape at their house in West Dennis. Lois enjoyed a long career with the Walpole Public School Department, officially retiring in 1999. In the years following her retirement, Lois enjoyed spending time at the beach, annual trips to Aruba with Craig and later her sister Alma, planting flowers in her gardens, watching her beloved birds at their feeders or taking trips to the casino with family and friends.
In more recent years, Lois enjoyed spending time with her close friends, often treating themselves to lunch or tea at Fancy That in Walpole but her biggest source of enjoyment has always been time with her grandchildren specifically playing Nana games at every holiday.
Beloved wife of the late Craig E. Jennings and mother of Karen A. and her husband, Robert Jedrey, of Billerica, Craig A. and his wife, Cindy Jennings, of Northboro, and Pamela M. and her husband, Jim Driscoll of Walpole.
