Lillian M. Madden

Lillian M. Madden, 61, of East Walpole died May 19 2007 in her home with her loving family and friends at her side.

Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Pidgeon.She graduated from Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School in Dorchester and from the Boston City School of Nursing with the class of 1966. Mrs. Madden was a Registered Nurse for almost 40 years, beginning her career as an emergency room nurse at what was then Boston City Hospital and then worked in several other Boston area hospitals. Her last position was her most cherished, as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Newton- Wellesley Hospital. There she became the nurse of choice for many prospective parents due to her experience and caring personality.

Mrs. Madden lived in Walpole since 1973, after moving here from Dorchester.

She was the wife of Edward Madden and mother of Timothy of Seattle, WA, Edward and his wife Laura of Scottsdale, AZ, and Kevin and his wife Carolyn and grandson Colin of Attleboro, MA.; two brothers, Stephen Pidgeon and his wife Kerri of Wrentham, MA; Jack Pidgeon of St. Louis, Mo.; Two sisters, Lucille Costanza and her husband Felix of Burlington, MA; Margaret Tierney and her husband Paul of Needham, MA.; And numerous nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed being the mother of three boys and with her husband devoted her time and energy to family vacations, sports programs, and volunteering at their schools.

Lillian had varied interests, but she really enjoyed her time spent on Cape Cod, painting glassware, knitting, and loved to entertain her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary's Church E. Walpole on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 9:00AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday, May 22, 2007 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Memorial donations may be made in Lillian's' name to Dana Farber Cancer Institute , 10 Brookline Place, West, 6th floor, Brookline ,MA 02445-7226,Attn: Contribution Services.
