Leonard Prosack age 88 years died at Epoch Senior Healthcare in Sharon, Massachusetts on Friday, June 1, 2012. Born in Frackville, Pennsylvania on December 24, 1923, he was the son of the late George and Victoria (Chiszek) Prosack. He graduated from Frackville High School with the class of 1941 and later graduated from Bentley School of Accounting. Mr. Prosack proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Canberra during World War II. He has been a resident of Sharon for the past 52 years moving there from Jamaica Plain.
Mr. Prosack worked as an accountant for 40 years for the Mason Nelin Corporation in Norwood, which later became Worthington Control, the Dresser Corporation, and finally General Electric.
He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5305 Sharon. He was also a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Holy Name Society, the Mens Club, and was an usher at the 7:30 Mass on Sunday Mornings.
Most important to Mr. Prosack was spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of 65 years of Marietta A. (Trefry) Prosack. Loving father of Shirley and her husband John Strand of Franklin and Diane and her husband Kenneth Thomson of Mansfield. Cherished grandfather of Erik, Amy, John, Victoria Strand, Jill Thomson, and Mary Buchanio. Great grandfather of Alana and Trey Mason. Brother of Henry G. Prosack of Virginia, pre deceased by 10 brothers and sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church Cottage Street Sharon on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 10AM. Visiting hours are Monday, June 4, 2012 from 4 to 8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.
