Kurt Eric Jacob, age 50, passed away in his home in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Born in West Roxbury on April 18, 1967, he was the son of the late Charles and Patricia (Delaney) Jacob of West Roxbury. He grew up in West Roxbury and attended Catholic Memorial High School and later Newton South High School.
After high school, Kurt worked various jobs, including at National Lumber, White Hen Pantry, and many golf courses. He returned to night school at Boston University, where he earned a certificate in computer engineering. This allowed him the opportunity to take a position with BISCO in Dedham, managing the company's networks. He later put his skills to use as a sub-contractor for National Grid as well as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, working as a network administrator.
Kurt had an incredible sense of humor. If you were friends with Kurt, you probably had a nickname. Chances are you might not have liked it but that nickname has a special meaning now.
Kurt was an avid Patriots fan and he made sure to let you know it. He was passionate about many things, his 2 boys Shaun and Colin, animals, computers, video games and electronics in general. Kurt also had a love for fishing, drawing and classic cars, especially Mustangs. When he found something he was passionate about, he put his heart and soul into it. Kurt was a creative and social person with a big heart. If you were fortunate enough to get to spend time with him, you would have gotten to know someone who had strong opinions but who was also kind and caring. He didn't always make the best decisions but in the end, he owned them and for that he leaves an unwavering legacy.
Loving father of Shaun P. Jacob and Colin R. Jacob both of Blackstone.
Brother of Christopher S. Jacob of Wrentham, Keith Jacob and his wife Kerri of Woburn, and Kirstin Kilroy and her husband Bobby of Walpole.
Also survived by many members of his extended family.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Kurt's Life Celebration on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 4-8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, Virginia 22215.
