Kristina Marie "Tina" Johnson, age 49, passed away in the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday, April 10, 2016. Born in Boston on February 27, 1967, she was raised in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Saint Clare's High School in Roslindale with the Class of 1985. After graduation, Tina proudly served her country in the United States Army. She trained as an Army Medic and was honorably discharged in 1988 as a Specialist. She enrolled in Quincy College, earning her Associate's Degree in Nursing in 1989.
After moving to Walpole, Massachusetts, Tina began working as a Registered Nurse at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale. She worked at various other nursing facilities after moving to Plainville in 1994. She was called upon to be a staff developer and later director of nursing. This did not suit her however, as she missed her patients too much. Tina later became a traveling nurse to fulfill her calling of caring for others.
Tina was a member of the Sons of Italy in Walpole and a Junior Member of Red Hat Society in Walpole.
Devoted daughter of Lorraine A. Norton of Plainville and step daughter of the late Jack Norton.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Tina's Life Celebration on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 4-7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:30 AM in Saint Martha's Church, 227 South Street, Plainville. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Suite 550, Chicago, IL 60631.
