Kistra LaNae Damaso

May 25, 1973 — January 10, 2019

Kistra LaNae (Lewis) Damaso, age 45, passed away in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday, January 10, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Wichita, Kansas on May 25, 1973, she was the daughter of Robert A. Lewis and Suzanne (Bewick) Lewis.  She was raised in Wayland, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1991.  Following graduation, Kistra continued her education at Boston University, earning her bachelor’s degree in 1995.

Kistra had a passion for helping others.  This passion led her to return to school after working for a few years in public relations.  In 2000, she earned her master’s degrees with a focus on occupational therapy.  While attending BU, she met her husband to be, Ryan M. Damaso, by chance when she asked him for help moving.  The following day they enjoyed their first of many Jimmy Buffett concerts together and began dating.  Kistra and Ryan were married on June 28, 2003 in Milton, Massachusetts and initially made their home together in Dorchester, later settling in Walpole, Massachusetts.

Kistra found work with National Seating and Mobility following her graduation from BU.  Her career continued as Kistra’s family began to grow, welcoming her daughters, Mia and Elliana.  She chose to leave work just prior to welcoming her daughter Liza, to stay home, where she could better care for her family.  Family life was incredibly important to Kistra, as she loved cooking wonderful meals for all to enjoy and keeping her home meticulously organized.  She loved spending time with Ryan and their daughters at their summer home in Dennisport on Cape Cod, where they could be found on the beach, in kayaks, or visiting Crowe’s Pasture.

While her professional career had come to an end, Kistra never stopped working to help others.  She was by the side of any friend or family member in need and she worked to improve her community as well.  She was an elected member of the Walpole representative town meeting as well as a member of the Old Post Road School Parents Advisory Committee.

Beloved wife of Ryan M. Damaso.
Loving mother of Mia M. Damaso, Elliana E. Damaso, and Liza L. Damaso.
Cherished daughter of Robert A. Lewis of New Hampshire and Suzanne (Bewick) Lewis of Norfolk.
Devoted sister of Kasha S. Cacy and her husband Robert of New York.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Kistra’s Life Celebration on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 9 to 9:30 AM in the James H.
