Kenneth W. Sandahl, age 81, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on May 30, 1941, Ken was the son of the late Joseph G. Sandahl and Bertha (Lindh) Sandahl. He was raised in East Walpole with his brother Joseph and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1958. Following his graduation, Ken attended Wentworth Institute, Boston Architectural Center, earning his Associates Degree with the Class of 1960.
Shortly after his graduation, Ken married the love of his life, Carol A. Norcross, at the Union Congregational Church in East Walpole on June 2, 1963. The young couple settled in Walpole to start their family together, welcoming their six wonderful children into the world. Along with adding ‘Dad’ to his resume, Ken had an extensive career in construction management, spending many years building his reputation at Plywood Ranch, Mister Donut, CB Westgate and Grossman’s, overseeing all of their projects and making sure they were done as efficiently as possible. Even in his retirement, Ken had the itch to keep busy and founded the Honey Do Handyman Company in 2006.
Being a handyman, Ken had a passion for carpentry, all the way from fix-it projects to entirely designing and building his own furniture. He was often using these skills for repairs at the Union Congregational Church, where he was an active member his whole life. Ken even went on to earn the honorable title of Deacon Emeritus. Ken was not just loyal to his faith, but also to himself, finding time to have fun with his friends by going ice fishing or holding cribbage tournaments as the original AHOYs. He loved to travel with Carol down to Marathon, in the Florida Keys, to escape the cold New England weather and do his fishing in the sun.
Ken was a devoted family man and nothing had made him feel more blessed than to watch his family grow.
