Kenneth A. Chamberlain

November 12, 1939 — January 7, 2021

Kenneth A. Chamberlain, age 81, passed away on January 7, 2021 in his home in Middleboro. Born in Worchester on November 12, 1939, Kenneth was born the son of Everett and Dorothy (Anderson) Chamberlain. He was raised in Northboro until he was in 5th grade, his family moving to Norwood. While in Norwood, Ken played football up until his graduation from Norwood High School with the Class of 1958. All the while, he had worked at Stop and Shop, as well as for his grandfather Fred Anderson at his Garage on Walpole Street in Norwood.

When Ken graduated from Norwood High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. Not long after, he met Ruth J. Martin and the young couple wasted no time getting married on June 17, 1962 at St. Catherine’s Church in Norwood while Ken was still in the service. They lived in Norwood for four years until the young couple bought their first home in Walpole in 1966. Ken and his family moved to Greenfield for two years while he worked as the service manager for Lorenz Cadillac before moving back to Walpole and opening Metropolitan Brake and Muffler in Norwood. He ran Metropolitan Brake and Muffler for ten years before he opened B & G Power Equipment in Walpole, eventually retiring in 2004. In his retirement, Ken kept busy by working for Herb Chambers by running registrations and transporting cars between dealerships.

In 2016, Ken and Ruth moved to Middleboro, becoming quick members in their community. Ken remained a member of the Norwood Elks, taking his good spirit and bringing it down to Sacred Heart Church in Middleboro at the Food Pantry where he donated his time to help others. Ken found joy in woodworking and remodeling, always finding some project to work on and keeping himself occupied.

Ken was always a family man. Although he worked a lot, he always found time or made time to be with his wife and children. He loved attending games and school events that his children took part in, that love now extending to being present for anything his grandchildren take part in.

Loving husband of Ruth J. (Martin) Chamberlain.

Beloved father of Dana L. Delongchamps and husband, Michael, of Carver, Kenneth A. Chamberlain Jr. and wife, Naomi, of Auburn, NH and Todd C. Chamberlain and former wife, Cathy, of Plainville.

Cherished grandfather of Lauren, Nicholas, Brooks, Kenneth III, Patrick, Jessica, Alyssa, and Sarah.

Great-grandfather of William.

Brother of Diane M. Bonner of Martinez, CA and the late Joel H. Chamberlain.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Ken’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.
