Kenneth MacKay Bowen

Kenneth M. Bowen, Sr. age 86 died in the Blue Hills Alzheimers Care Center in Stoughton, Massachusetts on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on January 20, 1922 to his parents Samuel H. and Margaret (MacKay) Bowen, he graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in Boston with the class of 1939. He moved from Dorchester in 1962 and has been living in Walpole since.

Mr. Bowen was a retired Sergeant in the United States Army. He served his country during World War II and a year later he re enlisted and served for over 21 years. He was able to travel with the Army and he and his family lived in Germany, France, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky.

Mr. Bowen was an Orthopedic Technician at the Norwood Hospital with 24 years of service, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of the DAV Chapter 90 in Norwood, Massachusetts.

Mr. Bowen enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time on Cape Cod.

Beloved husband of Edith J. (Burhoe) Bowen. Loving father of Kenneth M. Bowen, Jr of Lakewood, CO, and Elizabeth "Libby" Watson of Wrentham. Cherished grandfather of 4 and great grandfather of 1. Brother of the late Samuel H. "Sam" Bowen and Eleanor Sellers. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service that will be held in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Sunday at 5PM. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2-5PM. Interment is private. Memorial donations may be made to: American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, Massachusetts 01701.
