Kathleen Dahra Taglienti

June 13, 1947 — August 19, 2015

Kathleen Dahra (Rourke) Taglienti, age 68, passed away peacefully in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Born in Newton, Massachusetts on June 13, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Eva (Auxtolis) Rourke. She was raised in Newton and graduated from Newton South High School with the class of 1965, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the National Honor Society. She continued her education at Framingham State College, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education with the class of 1969. After college, Kathy took a position as an elementary school teacher in the Williams School in Newton.

She met her husband to be, John V. Taglienti, while in high school in September of 1964, and they were married on September 10, 1971, and together they settled in Newton. After welcoming her boys, Jeff and Keith, Kathy transitioned to the role of a homemaker to raise and care for her young family. In 1980, Kathy and John moved their family to Walpole, Massachusetts to raise their sons. As Jeff and Keith grew older, Kathy returned to work, serving as a substitute teacher in the Walpole Elementary Schools.

Kathy loved flowers, she enjoyed working in her own garden as well as admiring other gardens that she came across. She enjoyed spending time at her second home in Wareham, Massachusetts as well as following both the Red Sox and the Patriots. Most of all, Kathy cherished the time she spent with her devoted family. As her husband's best friend, she loved taking Sunday drives with John looking for flowers. She had an incredibly close relationship with her sons and loved attending their sporting events. After becoming a grandmother, Kathy looked forward to her trips to Georgia to visit her grandchildren.
