Kathlaine Piemonte (01/03/1946 – 02/26/2021)
Born in Eden, NY, Kate Piemonte was an amazing grandmother, mother, and wife. She enjoyed her life in New York, New Jersey, and Florida. She grew up the youngest of four sisters, living in Eden. It was a wonderful childhood with the hustle and bustle of running the family business, Phatiger’s on the Corner, a bar and restaurant. It was no surprise that she was an incredible entertainer. Often times, seemingly to be in three places at once, she would be cooking for 40 people and playing consummate host at the same time. As a mother she was caring and nurturing while instilling her well-known can-do attitude. With a significant influence from her Uncle Eddie, she lived life with the expectation that there was nothing she couldn’t do. It was as easy for her to entertain a houseful of people as it was to handle construction projects, paint multiple rooms or tend to a large garden. Fortunately, she loved to teach and pass those talents on to her children and grandchildren, sometimes with a little frustration, she liked things done right!
She passed away peacefully on February 26th, 2021 and joins her beloved husband Richard A. Piemonte in heaven. She was the daughter of the late Charles Phatiger and Eleanor (Demerley) Phatiger. She was the loving mother of Ellen (Piemonte) Knight and her husband, Tim Knight of Medfield, MA as well as Tim Piemonte and his wife Becky Piemonte of Point Pleasant, NJ. She was the cherished grandmother of six grandchildren: Caitlin, Allison, and Cara Knight and Analise, Jason, and Aubree Piemonte. She had three sisters, Marylaine, Charlaine and is survived by Helaine.
As a result of the ongoing pandemic and with genuine concern for the people whom we love, Kate's family has decided that her funeral services and interment will be private. A celebration of Kate's life will take place in the summer of 2021 in New Jersey.
