KATHERINE "KATIE" (Crowley) MELODY AGE 78 YEARS DIED AT THE CHARLWELL HOUSE NURSING HOME ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH, 2006. Born on May 17, 1927, in Barna, County Galway, Ireland, daughter of the late Thomas & Mary (Folan) Crowley. Educated in Ireland prior to moving to the United States.

A resident of Walpole for many years, living here and raising her family here. She loved being outdoors enjoying yardwork and gardening. A very spiritual woman, devoted to her church, her family and her husband.

Mrs. Melody was a homemaker for most of her life, however she had an opportunity to work as an Aid at the Norwood Retirement & Rehabilitaion Center , across from the Norwood Hospital. She worked there with the elderly for over 20 years.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas W. Melody, Sr. Loving mother of Mary Ann Drake of Sherborn Thomas W. Melody, Jr. of Shoreview, Minnesota,and Cathy Spillane of Plainville. Cherished Grandmother of Jaclyn Drake, Kristin Drake, Brian Drake, Erin Melody, Thomas Spillane and Maureen Spillane Sister of Patrick Crowley of Ireland, the late Delia Quinn, the late Maura Harrison, the late Mark Crowley and the late Margaret Vessey.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Buriall that will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 @ 10. Visiting hours are Tuesday, February 14, 2006 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Saint Francis Cemetery.
