Karl R. Fassnacht

April 5, 1925 — August 4, 2009

Karl R. Fassnacht age 84 years died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 5, 1925; he was the son of the late Fedinand G. and Katharine (Shaughnessy) Fassnacht. He graduated from West Roxbury High School with the class of 1943. After high school, Mr. Fassnacht served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army during World War II. Upon his return he graduated from Boston College in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Later in Life he graduated from Boston University with his Master's Degree in Business. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1959 moving from Framingham, Massachusetts.

He worked as an insurance broker and later as an Assistant to the Vice President in National Accounts for Liberty Mutual in Natick. He retired after 39 years of service.

Mr. Fassnacht belonged to the Rotary Club in Natick, Massachusetts. He enjoyed reading, golf, fine dining, automobiles, and traveling to Europe and California.

Beloved husband of the late Frances (Sullivan) Fassnacht. Loving father of Richard S. Fassnacht of Cranston, RI, Joan E. Ravens of Andover, Carol A. Toti of Walpole, and Robert C. Fassnacht of Albion, RI. Cherished grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 4. Companion of Grace Giuditia. Brother of Mary Murphy of Stoughton and the late Philip Fassnacht. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Friday morning from 8-9:30AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is private.
