Karin Heidimarie (Herrmann) Dailey, of Norwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, at Massachusetts General Hospital on February 27, 2024. She was 83.
Born in Mannheim Germany, she came to the United States at age 19, with a working visa, and stayed with her aunt, Maria Praino. She attended the Henry O. Peabody School for secretarial skills and taught herself English. Soon after arriving to the states, she met the love of her life, William Dailey, and after a brief courtship, they got married in 1961.
She is survived by her husband William Dailey of Norwood; children, Kathleen Veer of Old Orchard Beach, ME; William Dailey (wife Laura) of Sherborn, MA; and Sheila Ciechanowski (husband Craig) of Walpole, MA. She had 6 grandchildren, Billy Veer (wife Taylor), Casey Ciechanowski, Hanna Redd (husband Christopher), Andrew Ciechanowski, Stephanie Dailey, Cameron Dailey, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Christa Gaber of Schriesheim, Germany.
Karin enjoyed many activities in life including playing cards, reading, watching old movies, but mostly spending time with her grandchildren. They were the lights of her life. She often cooked and delivered food and her famous chicken soup to family and friends. She especially loved family gatherings, holidays, and going to the casino to play poker on the slot machines.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Karin's Life Celebration on Friday, March 1st, 2024, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, in Saint Mary's Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
