May 31, 1938 — February 23, 2018

June C. (Hanlon) Whiting of Westwood, formerly of Walpole, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2018 at the age of 79.

Beloved wife of Paul E. "Eddie" Whiting, with whom she shared 60 joyful years of marriage.
Devoted mother of Christopher Whiting, his wife Deborah, of Northwood, NH, Laurel Whiting of Scottsdale, AZ, Robert Whiting of Mansfield, Linda Garro, her husband Anthony, of Westerly, RI, Ellen Pike, her husband James, of Bellingham, Tara McKennedy, her husband John of Walpole, and Ani Whiting of Westwood.
Cherished grandmother of Thomas, Jennifer, Sean, Kevin, Daniel, Anthony, Jake, Julia, Reed, Tate, Cole, and Isaiah.

As a foster parent to many, many children, June devoted her life to caring for others. She will long be remembered for her kindness, compassion, quick wit, and sense of humor. June's greatest joy was spending time with her best friend, her husband Eddie and reading countless books.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend June's visiting hours on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. Funeral service and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in June's honor to the Walpole Public Library Endowment Trust, c/o Walpole Public Library, 143 School Street, Walpole, MA 02081, where she spent countless hours.
