Judith K. (Leavitt) Treen, age 80, passed away peacefully in the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, Massachusetts on Friday, November 13, 2015. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on November 1, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Jesse K. and Bernice M. (Canney) Leavitt. She was raised in Norwood, Massachusetts, graduating from Norwood High School with the class of 1953. After graduation, Judy moved with her family to Walpole and began working at Hollingsworth and Vose in East Walpole as a bookkeeper.
While walking back and forth to work, Judy met her soon to be husband, Kenneth B. Treen while he was working. After being pushed together by mutual friends, Judy married Ken on June 17, 1956.
Judy left Hollingsworth and Vose and along side Ken, they operated Treen's Evergreen Nursery in Walpole for 55 years in addition to raising her family.
Beloved wife of Kenneth B. Treen.
Loving mother of Alice Groves of Dedham and Jeffrey Treen of Dennisport.
Cherished grandmother of Jeff, Jill, Jacci, Amber, Jason, Lucas, and Brian.
Sister of Bertha May Blanchard of Reno, NV and the late Carl E. Leavitt.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Judy's Life Celebration on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 4-7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Service will be held in the United Church, 30 Common Street, Walpole on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
