Born in her home in Bristol, England on February 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise (Beasley) Morgan. She was raised and educated in England, however left school at the age of 14 to help support her family.
Joyce's brother, Sid, was dear friends with a man named, Dominic F. Dolge.
