Joy Arlene Clark, age 59, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on October 24, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lewis and Betty-Ann (Cody) Clark. She was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1981. Following her graduation, Joy took various courses in American Sign Language, helping others learn along the way.
Joy began her working career in the restaurant field after taking a position in the kitchen at Pete's Dream in Walpole. She later took positions with TeeTee’s in Walpole center, The Ground Round in both Walpole and Norwood, Friendly's on Route 1 in Norwood, and finally at Old Country Buffet at the Walpole Mall. More recently, in 2000, Joy began working as a sales associate at the Stop and Shop in Norwood.
As an avid country music fan, Joy loved taking trips to Nashville, taking in all the sights and sounds of Fanfare, Dollywood and Loretta Lynn dude ranch. Back in Walpole, Joy loved attending Concerts on the Common and spending the evening square dancing at the Epiphany Episcopal Church. Most of all, Joy loved spending time surrounded by her family. She and her twin sister, Joyce, shared a truly special bond, spending countless hours watching old television shows, cooking for each other, and taking long walks around town.
Devoted daughter of the late Robert Lewis and Betty-Ann (Cody) Clark.
Cherished sister of Robert L. Clark and his wife, Maureen, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Ronald E. Clark and his wife, Lisa, of Englewood, Florida, Steven L. Clark of Norwood, Dane M. Clark of Pensacola, Florida, Patricia M. Clark and her significant other, Reynaldo Mariona, of Foxboro, Diane L. Smith and her late husband, Frederick, of Foxboro, Joyce A. Clark of Walpole, Betty A. Clark of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and the late Frank J. Clark.
She was also the loving aunt to her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Joy's Life Celebration on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 10 AM to 12 Noon in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Walpole Food Pantry, P.O.
