Joseph C. Montella, (87), of Norfolk, Massachusetts (formerly of Westwood, MA) passed away quietly on February 14, 2024, surrounded by family.

 

Joseph was born to Joseph J. and Elvira S. Montella on September 8, 1936, in Providence, RI.  He grew up in West Roxbury, Massachusetts where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Teresa Quinn.  After serving in the United States Navy, he spent his working career in sales.  He loved boating and enjoyed spending time on their boat with family and friends at Marina Bay in Quincy, MA.  He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed.

 

Joseph was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.   Joseph is survived by his wife Teresa, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, and three children, Joseph, Michael, Mark, and his wife Caryn, and six grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Ryan, Shawn, Michele and Danielle.   He is also survived by his sister, Susan Saia and brother David Montella. 

 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Joseph’s visitation on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

 

All are invited to gather in the funeral home on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 9:00 am prior to his Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Saint Jude’s Church, 86 Main Street, Norfolk.  Interment will take place privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joseph’s name may be made to the Dementia Society of America, by mailing a check to PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or by visiting https://www.dementiasociety.org/
