Joseph P. McManus

Joseph P. McManus, 83, of Walpole, formerly of Roslindale, MA, on June 22, 2017. Son of the late Thomas and Margaret McManus. Beloved husband of Carole (Dale) McManus. Devoted father of Joseph P. McManus Jr. and wife, Judith Tully of Westborough, Mary-Jane McManus of Delray Beach FL, Gregory McManus and his wife Christina of Garden City NY and son-in law, Joseph Flaherty of Concord MA. Predeceased by his daughter, Nancy Flaherty. Also predeceased by his siblings Thomas, Patricia Connors and Francis. Survived by brother William and sister Mary Sullivan. Proud grandfather of Kerry Rhodes (James), Meghan Lambert (Darrell), John Flaherty, Michael Flaherty, Ryan Tully McManus Katherine Tully-McManus, Jack and Gracie McManus. Great grandfather of Adam and Theresa Rhodes. He will be missed by his very many nieces and nephews.

Joseph graduated from Boston College High School class of 1952, from Franklin Institute of Technology and Boston College. He enjoyed a life time career at New England Telephone Company / Verizon. He was the past president of the Holy Name Society and was a devoted member of the men's prayer group at Blessed Sacrament Church. Joseph coached youth soccer in Walpole and volunteered for B.C. High and Walpole H.S. A man for others, Joseph was always ready to offer support and encouragement to his extended family and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday June 27, 4 - 7 pm at James H. Delaney and Son Funeral Home, 48 Common St. Walpole MA 02081. Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond St. Walpole MA 02081 at 11:30am on Wednesday June 28th. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
