JOSEPH M. MANNERING, JR. age 70 years died in The Clark House in Westwood on Thursday, May 3, 2007. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 24, 1936, the son of the late Joseph M. & Dorothy (Wilson) Mannering. He graduated from the Cathedral High School, in the South End Boston, with the class of 1954. He went on to graduate from Boston University with the class of 1958, with a degree from the College of Industrial Technology.
He has been living in Walpole since 1959, moving here from West Roxbury
Mr. Mannering worked as an Electrical Engineer for both GTE in Waltham and Raytheon in Norwoodand after his retirement he drove a school bus for Michael J. Connolly Bus Company Walpole.
He was a former Pop Warner and Little League Coach in Walpole and a former member of the Blessed Sacrament Church Choir
Mr. Mannering enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden doing his yardwork. He was a loyal Patriots fan.
Beloved husband of Shelia P. (Tiernan) Mannering Loving father of Michele A. Mannering of Sandwich, William M. Mannering of San Diego, California, and Matthew J. Mannering of Medford. Cherished grandfather of Hunter C. Mannering. Brother of Joan Nash of Hull Also survived by many nieces and nephews
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Rt 27) @ Diamond Street Walpole on Monday, May 7, 2007 @ 10AM. Visiting hours are Sunday Afternoon, May 6, 2007 from 2pm to 6pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to: Vista Care Hospice 690 Canton Street Westwood, Massachusetts 02090. Mr. Mannering served 6 years in the Army National Guard.
