Joseph Lawrence Maloney, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 14, 1947, he was the son of the late Lorin and Rose (Trainor) Maloney. Joe was raised in Norwood, attending Saint Catherine's School, before enrolling in Norwood High School. During his high school career, Joe was a strong member of the Track Team, and earned the record for the 440 sprint before graduating with the Class of 1965. After graduation, Joe furthered his education, attending Boston College and Bridgewater State College.

Joe married the love of his life, Marie Mikalauskas, on June 25, 1994. Together the couple made their home in Walpole. While his home was in Walpole, Joe loved taking "Weekend Get Aways" with Marie, to the family home on Lake Pearl in Wrentham and visiting small towns across New England. Joe was a charter member of the Sky High Ski Club in Interval, New Hampshire. As the nicer weather came around, as a die hard Red Sox Fan, Joe traveled to Spring Training in Florida and loved watching the Sox play at Fenway.
