Joseph M. Deveney

Joseph M. Deveney age 80 years died in the Faulkner Hospital on Friday, August 17, 2007. He was born in Norwood to his parents John J. & Mary L. (Burke) Deveney on December 9, 1926. He graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1945. After high school he served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He later went on to attend Portia Law School. He was most recently living in Hyde Park, coming from Norwood, and Walpole.

Mr. Deveney worked as a truck driver for the Bristol Linen Service for 35 years.

He was a member of the Hyde Park Eagles.

Beloved husband of the late Helen (Floranze) Deveney. Loving father of Joseph M. Johnson of Hyde Park, Robert F. Johnson of W. Yarmouth, John J. Johnson of Quincy, Barbara Hart of Hyde Park, Howard Johnson of Easton, James Johnson of NH, the late Helen "Cookie" Enokian, Judith Johnson, Linda Elwood, and Kenneth Johnson. Cherished grandfather of 38 and great grandfather of many. Brother of Mary Breen of Mansfield, Ann Irvine, the late Sally Obaczynski, and the late John Deveney. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond Street Walpole on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 @ 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Monday, August 20, 2007 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole.
