Joseph Michael Bianculli

Joseph Michael Bianculli, age 75, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Born in Brookline, Massachusetts on April 21, 1949, he was the son of Dominic and Martha (Haun) Bianculli. Joe was a longtime resident of Milton and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1967. He later graduated from Boston State College with a Bachelor’s degree in 1971.

Joe and his beloved wife, Christine were high school sweethearts. In a story straight out of a movie, he was the football captain, and she was the cheer captain. The pair married at St. Pius Church in Hyde Park on February 5, 1972. Joe started work as a Probation Officer at Brighton Court the same year and happily stayed there until his retirement on June 30th of 2007. Recently, the couple moved to Walpole to be closer to their children.

Joe and Chris raised three boys who inherited their parents’ athletic talents. They always attended their kids’ hockey games. Even if the game was in New York, the first car their sons would see was their parents’. Later, after being given the grandfatherly title of “Bubba,” Joe continued to share his sports enthusiasm, by attending all his grandkids’ games; be it ice hockey, field hockey, baseball, dance, or gymnastics. At home, Joe was an avid Patriots fan and was always ready for the game on Sunday. He loved all the Boston teams - except the Celtics. After retiring, Joe loved going on cruises with his wife. They would skip the hustle and hassle of the airport, and simply set sail to Bermuda.

Joe’s main love, however, was his family. His wise words, “Family or nothing” said it all. Joe told his wife he loved her every single day, and he was always sure to tell his kids he loved them too. His whole world was his “Chrissy and three boys”. He was the patriarch of the family, and their home had an open-door policy. His warmth and generosity was best exemplified at his legendary fourth of July parties. The giant cookout hosted friends, family, and neighbors alike and featured every kind of backyard game including an egg toss, 3-legged races, hula hooping, and even horses. There was always enough food to feed an army, and everyone was welcome. Joe ran the show and played the National Anthem to kick off the party before running and refereeing the games.
