John Francis Torpey

John Francis Torpey of Walpole formerly of Roslindale, December 25, 2008, age 84, he was born in Boston on September 30, 1924.

Son of the late William and Winifred (Henegan) Torpey. Beloved husband of the late Dolores A. (Russo) Torpey. Loving father of John F. Torpey, Jr. Esq. of Arlington, Valerie Torpey Irving, Esq. and her husband James W. Irving of Dedham. Cherished grandfather of Megan Price of Pepperell, Sean Torpey of Somerville, and the late Brian Shiner. He is survived by three sisters, Helen MacDonald of Canton, Winifred Weckbacher of Abington, and Kathleen Sneyd of Roslindale. He is pre deceased by his brothers, William Torpey and James Torpey, and his sisters, Mary Small and Peggy Kelliher.

A US Navy Veteran of WWII, he was assigned to the USS Anthedon operating in the South Pacific. He was a retiree from the Boston Edison and a member of UWUA Local 369.

Funeral from the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Monday at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church, Walpole at 10AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-8PM. Interment in Saint Francis Cemetery, Walpole.
