John J. Ricci

John J. Ricci age 96 years died in the Golden Living Center in Norwood, Massachusetts on Sunday, June 19, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 18, 1915; he was the son of the late Francesco and Angelina (Collins) Ricci. He graduated from Washington Irving High School in Roslindale. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 35 years moving there from Dedham.

Mr. Ricci was a baker and worked at Sano's in Walpole for 20 years, the Red Wing in Walpole for 30 years, and Guido's in Walpole for 20 years.

He was a member of the Italian American Club in Walpole, and was an avid Boston sports fan. He enjoyed following the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics.

Beloved husband of the late Arlene M. "Jodi" (Knapp) Ricci and Rose M. (LaPlante) Ricci. Beloved father of Rose A. Pelton of Dedham, Barbara Ricci of Medford, and the late John F. Ricci. Cherished grandfather of Kathleen M. Cose of Brockton, Karen E. Chen of Randolph, Denise Ricci of Cape Cod, Lorraine Ricci of FL, Darlene Ricci of North Attleboro, John Ricci of Medford, and the late Judy Ricci. Brother of Jennie Cassano of Westwood, Alfred Ricci, Sr. of Westwood, Elena Oppedisano of Westwood, and Mary Zarella of Stoneham.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Mass that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street in Walpole on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are omitted at the request of the family. Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
