John J. Reardon

Mr. John J. "Jake" Reardon age 79 years died in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Friday, May 10, 2013. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 30, 1934, he was the son of John and Katherine (Chisholm) Reardon. He was educated in the Boston Public Schools and attended Roslindale High School. As an underage man he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country on the USS Chipola. He has been a resident of Walpole for the past 12 years moving there from Norwood, Massachusetts, where he had lived for 32 years.

He was the owner of the City Store in Brighton for many years and after his retirement he enjoyed working at Home Depot in Norwood.

Mr. Reardon was very passionate about spending time fishing on his boat as well as being a member of the Monument Beach Marina in Bourne, Massachusetts. However, his greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Shirley A. (Cisternelli) Reardon. Loving father of Robert J. Reardon and Elke Urban of Medford, and Sheri and her husband David Gilmartin of Foxboro. Cherished grandfather of Paige, Jack, Wesley, and Jason. Brother of Eleanor Godfrey of Ft. Myers, FL,Paul Reardon of Hanover and the late Don Reardon.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service that will be held in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 11AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 4 to 8PM. Interment will be private.
