John J. Perry, III., age 87, passed away in the Norwood Hospital on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Born in Sharon, Massachusetts on April 24, 1930, he was the son of the late John J. and Evelyn (Wilbur) Perry. He was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1948. John married his beloved wife, Evelyn Milliken on March 24, 1950. The young couple settled in Walpole in 1959, where they raised their family.
John's career in heavy equipment began as an operator before transitioning into sales, working for Petry Equipment in Southboro. After 35 years working with Petry, John took a position with Thomas DiPlacido, where he worked an additional 10 years, retiring in 2012.
Throughout his life, John was very active in his community of Walpole. He served as a Representative to Town Meeting for many years, was a member of a bowling league at Petracca's Lanes in Walpole, and always enjoyed lively conversation with friends at the Country Kitchen Donut Shop. In addition, as an avid golfer, John was a member of the Pine Oaks Country Club in Easton, and as a Ford Model A enthusiast he was a member of the Marcom Antique Auto Club, a member of the South Shore Auto Model A. Club and could frequently be found on Long Pond in Mendon aboard his boat.
More than anything, John loved being surrounded by his family. He and his wife, Evelyn, traveled together and enjoyed spending their winters on Big Pine Island in Florida.

Loving father of Patricia Shanks and her husband Scott of Raynham, Joyce Perry of Ocean Shores, Washington, and the late John J. Perry, IV.
Cherished grandfather of Kehpri, Jake, Olivia, Darian, and Jordan.
Brother of Charles Perry of Norton, Frederick Dewhurst of Lakeville, and the late Evelyn Prosser.
