John C. Pember, age 67, passed away in his Attleboro, Massachusetts home on Friday, June 29, 2018. Born in Portland, Maine on February 23, 1951, he was the son of Walter S. Pember and Barbara A. (McNamara) Pember-Peatfield. John spent his early years in Foxborough, Massachusetts before settling in Walpole with his family. While attending Walpole High School, John took a part time job with the Walpole Purity Supreme. After his graduation in 1970, John began working full time with Purity Supreme in West Roxbury.
John made his home in Mansfield, where he proudly welcomed his son, John, Jr., in 1973. He spent a short time at the Foxboro Company working as a machinist and later took a position as a cook at Pete's Dream in Walpole, before starting his own handyman business. As he continued to build his carpentry skills, John took a position with Sardella Construction and later with C & J Electric.
In his spare time, John loved working with post and beam style construction as well as building furniture, including a cradle for his nephew. As a dedicated animal rights activist, he volunteered countless hours at various animal shelters. He was a wonderful chef, who loved creating great meals for his family to enjoy.

Cherished grandfather of Ethan and Jack both of Reading.
Devoted son of Barbara A. (McNamara) Pember-Peatfield of Walpole and the late Walter S. Pember.
Brother of Walter S. Pember, Jr. of Hudson, Florida and Cheryl Ann Pember of Foxborough.
Also survived by a niece and a nephew.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend John's Life Celebration on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. Funeral services and interment will be private at the request of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the local animal shelter of your choice, or John Pember's gofundme.com page.
