John Joseph "Joe" Mealey age 81 years died in the Quincy Medical Center on Friday, June 27, 2008. Born in Boston, Massachusetts to his parents Robert F. & Mary (Hunt) Mealey, he attended English High School in Boston. Mr. Mealey served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He had been living in the Allerton House in Quincy for the past 6 years moving there from Canton where he had lived from 1991 til 2002, before that he had lived in Walpole.
He worked as a bartender for over 46 years at the Holiday Inn in Dedham, Mill Falls Restaurant in Newton and retired from Pete's Dream in Walpole.
Loving father of Linda Keelan of Framingham and the late Robert J. Mealey. Brother of Mary McCoy of Duxbury, Peg Brennan of Pembroke, Joan Mealey of Duxbury, Therese Mealey of Duxbury, Thomas Mealey of Norwood, George Mealey of Duxbury,the late Anne Mealey, James Mealey, Robert, William, Paul, and Lawrence Mealey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Monday June 30th, 2008 at 9AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Sunday, June 29th, 2008 from 4-6PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Tuesday July 1st, 2008 at 10AM.
