John Michael "Bones" McTighe, age 70, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 in the Beth Israel Deaconess Hosptial in Needham, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 11, 1951, he was the son of the late John Edward and Patricia Anne (Glynn) McTighe. He spent his early years in Cambridge before his family settled in Walpole, Massachusetts, where John graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1970. Following his graduation, John began his career with the Town of Walpole's Department of Public Works, joining the AFL-CIO, Local 1957.
John made his home in Norwood, Massachusetts in 1978, where he raised his two daughters, Monica and Melissa. He continued his career with the Town of Walpole, taking a position with the Water Department, working as a truck driver. In 2003, John moved back to Walpole and went on to retire from the Highway Department in 2014, with more than forty-five years of service.
As a longtime resident of Walpole, John enjoyed talking to his friends and acquaintances at Mick Morgans and Stop and Shop, keeping up with the local gossip. He also followed the news both locally and nationally and was always ready for a good conversation about current events. While he loved spending time in Walpole, John did enjoy the occasional trip to the beach to sit by the ocean. Back at home, John looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed attending Justin's baseball games.

Cherished grandfather of Justin Skehill of Norwood, Kaitlyn Cullen, Christopher Cullen, and Ryan Cullen all of Norfolk.
Brother of Kathleen P. McTighe of Walpole, Elizabeth A. McTighe-Nichols of Coral Springs, Florida, and Joseph P. McTighe of Marysville, Ohio.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend John's Life Celebration on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MSPCA, 350 South Hunitington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
