John T. McLean age 84 years died in the Thomas Upham House in Medfield, Massachusetts on Monday, February 27, 2012. Born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on August 23, 1927, he was the son of the late Harold T. and Emma D. (Theriault) McLean. He graduated from East Boston High School with the class of 1945. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Later, he earned his Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern University. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 8 years moving there from West Roxbury.
Mr. McLean retired from the Boston Police Department as a Lieutenant with 37 years of service.
He was a member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association).
Beloved husband of the late Eileen (White) McLean. Loving father of Jeffrey J. McLean of Hyde Park and Amy E. McLean-Spang of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Kathryn McLean of Hyde Park, Renee Cournoyer of West Roxbury, Emma and Rachel Spang both of Walpole. Brother of Gertrude McFarland of North Reading, Charles McLean of Las Cruces, NM, the late Arthur McLean, Harold McLean, and Eleanor O'Brien. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Funeral and interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to: Alzheimer's Association 311 Arsenal Street Watertown, MA 02472.
