John J. McDonough, age 67, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at his home in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 6, 1957, he was the son of Robert M. and Eleanor A. McDonough. John was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts and graduated from Walpole High School with the class of 1975.
John found employment as a security guard at the local Polaroid Plant as well as a foot currier for Unigraphic, and in more recent years as a security guard at Foxhill Nursing in Westwood. John eventually made his home in Norwood where he resided for over twenty years before moving to Mansfield in 2020.
John was a history buff and avid reader who enjoyed learning and sharing interesting facts. In his free time he enjoyed the arts, including photography, plays and music. The Beatles and Elvis were his favorites. John's sense of humor lead him to stand up comedy and eventually to local television commercials. Most important to John was his family, especially his nieces and nephews who he adored.
Brother of Robert M. McDonough Jr. and his wife Paula of Bradenton, Florida, Gerard F. McDonough and his wife Cynthia of Milford, Paul E. McDonough and his wife Debra of Burlington, Maryjane Beaudry and her husband Richard of Millis, and the late Susan M. McDonough
Also survived by his close friends Eric Westcott and Maritza Romero-Westcott as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
At the request of John's family, all services will be private.
