John James Groark

JOHN JAMES GROARK AGE 82 YEARS DIED in the Caritas Norwood Hospital, Norwood, Massachusetts on Monday Morning, September 11th, 2006. Born on October 8, 1923, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late John J. & Theresa M. (Hoctor) Groark.

Mr. Groark was a 1941 graduate of Medford High School , upon his graduation he entered into the United States Navy and served his country during World War II, as an Aviation Machinist Mate. Discharge in December of 1945, he re enlisted in the Naval Researves and remained active with them until 1966, when he retired as a Chief Petty Officer.

Mr. Groark worked as a mechanical engineer at New England Telephone & Telegraph Company based in Boston and later in Framingham.

A resident of Walpole since 1967, he had moving here from Sharon, where he had lived for 18 yrs.

Mr. Groark loved to do the gardening and landscaping at his home, and was able to do home improvements as well as repairs to his home. He enjoyed going boating and his salt water fishing. His greatest joy was the love for his family and especially his grandchildren

Beloved husband of the late Irene A. (Fleming) Groark Loving father of Theresa A. & her husband David M. Browne of Franklin, John F. Groark , James W. Groark both of Walpole, Catherine E. Groark of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and Paul D. Groark of Fitchburg. Cherished grandfather of Elisabeth A. Browne , Colleen P. Browne, Christina M. Foley, and Ryan M. Foley. Brother of Barbara A. Gallagher of Stoughton,MA

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, East Street (Route 27) @ Diamond Street Walpole on Friday, September 15, 2006 @ 9AM. Visiting hours are Thursday Afternoon, September 14, 2006 , from 4pm to 8pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. . Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to: Greater Boston Diabetes Foundation or Greater Boston Guild for the Blind 1980 Centre Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02132
