John F. Griffin

John F. Griffin age 74 years died in the Sunrise Assisted Living Facility in Norwood, Massachusetts on Saturday, January 08, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 25, 1936; he was the son of the late John M. & Honor P. (Prendergast) Griffin. He graduated from Christopher Columbus High School with the class of 1954 and went on to graduate from Suffolk University with the class of 1958. He has been a resident of Norwood since 1998 moving there from Walpole where he spent 26 years.

He was the president of J.F. Griffin Company located in Norwood, Massachusetts for 35 years, retiring in 1997.

Mr. Griffin was a world traveler, an avid reader, and was self educated in the areas of wine, theater, and history. In addition he was a member of the Castle Island Association in Boston.

Beloved husband of the late Pauline (Barnes) Griffin. Loving father of Ann and her husband Stephen Cahill of Centerville, Kathleen and her husband Peter Glebus of Walpole and John M. and his wife Nancy Griffin of Norfolk. Cherished grandfather of Colin, Lucy, Brendan,Pauline Cahill, Patrick,Connor Glebus, Grace Kelly Griffin. Cherished friend of Janet Pinckard of RI.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours are Monday, January 10, 2011 from 4 to 8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole. Memorial donations may be made to: American Parkinson Disease Association 72 East Concord Street, Room C3 Boston, Massachusetts 02118.
