John F. Fitzgerald

John F. Fitzgerald age 82 years died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 19, 1926, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (O'Connor) Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He has been a resident of East Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 57 years moving from West Roxbury and previously from Dorchester.

He worked for GTE Sylvania in Needham, Massachusetts as a mechanical engineer for 30 years, and was a member of the GTE 25 year club.

Mr. Fitzgerald enjoyed making furniture and general carpentry as well as performing house renovations.

Beloved husband of the late Anne C. (Donahue) Fitzgerald Loving father of Elizabeth A. Fitzgerald , Neal J. Fitzgerald both of Franklin, and Nancy E. Fitzgerald of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Robert J. Fitzgerald and Heather T. Fitzgerald. Brother of Robert Fitzgerald of Milton.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral that will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Church Washington Street E. Walpole on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 9AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment is in Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole, Massachusetts.
