John T. Connors, age 91, passed away peacefully in the Fryeburg Nursing Home in Fryeburg, Maine on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 19, 1925, he was the son of the late William E. and Alice M. (Markt) Connors. He was raised in Dorchester and attended Boston Public Schools. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, John enlisted in the United States Navy, after leaving high school early and altering his date of birth to join. He proudly served his country in the Asiatic - Pacific Theatre of Operations, taking place in the liberation of the Philippines. John was honorably discharged in 1945 after earning the rank of Gunner's Mate, Third Class.
Upon his return home from the Navy, he took work as a mechanic, in construction, and after settling in Sharon, Massachusetts, he took positions with the Sharon Highway Department and in the Sharon Public Schools. Later, he took a position with Plymouth Rock Transportation. As a proud US Veteran, he joined the American Legion, Charles R. Wilbur Post in Sharon as well as the Sharon VFW, Arthur Boyden Post. After his retirement in 1986, John settled in Brownfield, Maine and joined the Fryeburg-Lovel VFW Post 6783, where he served as the Commander from 1991-1992. Throughout his life, John has a love for flying and was a member of the Air Craft Owners and Pilots Association.

Loving father of John T. "Jackie" Connors of Sharon, Michael C. Connors of Mansfield and the late James J. Connors and his surviving wife, Karen of Attleboro.
Cherished grandfather of James, Daniel, Maura, Kevin, Katie, Kristen, Lauren, and Erin and great grandfather of Caleb James Connors.
Brother of the late Helen L. Beauvais, Margaret M. Kiely, William E. Connors, Edward G. Connors, and James J. Connors.
Brother in law of Nancy Connors of Norwood and Evelyn Cody of Quincy.
Devoted companion of Winona Thompson and her children David Thompson and Mark Thompson both of Conway, NH and Debbi Pena of Glen, NH.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Memorial Mass in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 857 Main Street, Fryeburg, Maine on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM. A second Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 59 Cottage Street, Sharon, Massachusetts on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Fryeburg Rescue, P.O. Box 177, Fryeburg, Maine 04037. Arrangements by James H.
