John Joseph Casey

October 29, 1931 — October 3, 2014

John Joseph Casey, Jr.  age 82 years  died in his Walpole home on Friday, October 3, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 29, 1931, the son of John J. and Catherine (Sullivan) Casey.  He graduated from Mission High School, Roxbury, MA with the Class of 1949.  He entered into the United States Army to serve his country; he remained in the US Army Reserves.     After returning from the service he graduated from The Peterson School in Boston.  He joined the Pipe Fitters Union Local #537, worked for them for over 35 years and retired in 1991.

A resident of Walpole since 1965, moving here from Roslindale and Mission Hill.   He was a member of the American Legion in Mission Hill and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Beloved husband of the late Jennie T. (Davidson) Casey   Loving father of Thomas J. Casey, MD of San Antonio, Texas, Shawn D. Casey and Kerry J. Casey both of Walpole.  Brother of Daniel F. Casey of Milton and the late Catherine Sorrentino. 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend John’s life celebration on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 4pm to 8pm and Friday, October 10, 2014 from 9am to 9:30am in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Timothy’s Church Nichols Street Norwood on Friday at 10AM.  Interment Saint Francis Cemetery Walpole.  Memorial donations may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
