Mr. John Joseph "Joe" Cahill age 84 years died in the Caritas Norwood Hospital on Saturday morning, April 25, 2009. Born in Medfield, Massachusetts on November 18, 1924, the son of John Francis and Bridie (Purcell) Cahill. He graduated from Medfield High School with the Class of 1943, and imediately join the United States Marine Corp. He served his country during World War II in the Solomon Islands, Okinawa, and Luzon as a Sergeant.
Upon his return home from the service , he worked as a test technician for the New England Telephone Company, that became NYNEX and later Verizon. He retired in 1985 with over 30 years of service.
Mr. Cahill had recently moved to Norwood with his niece and her family, he had lived in Walpole for 41 years.

Beloved husband of the late Eleanor M. (Nardi) Cahill. Brother of the late Helen Rowan, the late Margaret Cahill, the late Teresa Kane, the late Josephine Doherty, and the late Barbara Thompson. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 @ 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 4-8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield, Massachusetts .
