John T. Bartz

John Bartz, age 28, passed away on September 2, 2024, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Born on February 12, 1996, he was the son of Vicki (Moore) Bartz and William Bartz. He was raised in Annandale, Virginia. He graduated from W.T. Woodson High School in Annandale in 2014.

John was born with a congenital heart condition and spent his life defying the odds. Despite his heart condition, he found a love for sports, playing both baseball and football while he was growing up. He also was a big fan of NASCAR and Drag Racing. As a child, he started collecting Hot Wheels and continued to grow his collection throughout his life. He and his older brother Brandon often went to Monster Jam together throughout the years. John spent his childhood being surrounded by love while being raised by his Grandad, and Grandma.

John met the love of his life, Anna Hall, in January of 2020 she was walking home from a bad date when she saw him. And like that, their story began. The whirlwind romance got sucked into a roaring halt, queue the pandemic, but their relationship continued with FaceTime’s and quarantining together until they realized it was going to be something big. Years worth of memories later, they tackled being dog parents, camping in West Virginia, weeks at the beach in Maine, moving from D.C. to Connecticut to Massachusetts, growing with each other’s friends and families, and building a life that they loved. That life included hunting for decent barbecue food, making their life decisions over ice cream, listening to a variety of music, going to many concerts, and spending time with the people they love. The pair got engaged in 2022 at a Christmas Tree Farm. Later they were married on June 8, 2024, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The ceremony became extra special as their dog, Lukey, was in attendance as well.

John’s personality was catching, he lit up each room he walked into. He made a point to ensure everyone was laughing, smiling, and having a good time. John was very family-focused, he loved being a husband, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a son, and a friend. John was an eclectic man, having many different hobbies, interests, and passions. Mostly he was proud of his friends and family, and the impact he could make on their day. John’s joy and kindness will always be felt and remembered by his friends and family.

Beloved husband of Anna Hall of Franklin, Massachusetts.

Brother of Brandon Keener, and his wife Bridget of Red Oak, North Carolina

Also survived by his grandad Fred Moore of Annandale, Virginia; his nieces Braelynn and Brighton Keener, his cousins Chris and Kevin Moore, his dog Lukey, and many loving members of his extended family
