John Leo Allen

John Leo Allen age 83 years died in the Harrington House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walpole, Massachusetts on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 7, 1928, he was the son of the late James and Christine (McKeon) Allen. He graduated from Boston English High School with the class of 1946 and later graduated from Northeastern University with the class of 1954. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1954 moving there from Roslindale.

Mr. Allen was the treasurer for Boston Gas and retired as the Vice President of Finance in 1993, having worked there for 40 years.

He was a member of the West Roxbury Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed glofing, crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader.

Beloved husband of Mary A. (Long) Allen. Loving father of Helen A. Ollis of Walpole, Diane M. Allen of NY, Jack Allen of Attleboro and Ginny Crehan of Franklin. Cherished grandfather of Rachel, Richie, Ryan, Russell, Jocelyn, Jack, Maryssa, Amanda, Eileen, and April. Brother of George Allen of Fl, and the late James Allen.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, May 25, 2012 from 3 to 7PM at James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
