Joanne Mahoney

Joanne "JoJo" (Norton) Mahoney age 71 years died in the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Massachusetts on Thursday, December 29, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 17, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (Wells) Norton. She graduated from Saint Augustine's High School in South Boston and later graduated from Emmanuel College. She has been a resident of Eastham, Massachusetts since 2000, moving there from Walpole.

Mrs. Mahoney was a teacher for 15 years and taught at Blessed Sacrament School in Walpole, Blessed Sacrament School in Roslindale, and in the Walpole Public Schools.

She enjoyed painting.

Beloved wife of Charles P. Mahoney, Jr. Loving mother of Barbara Jean Burke of Walpole, Paula Boylan of Mansfield, Peter Mahoney of Franklin, and the late Beth Mahoney. Cherished grandmother of Lauren Boylan, Ani Paul Whiting, Peter Burke, Sara Mahoney, Joseph Burke, Hannah Boylan, Allison Mahoney, Robert Burke, Emily Mahoney, and Charles Mahoney. Sister of Barbara Cronin of Eastham, Kevin Norton of FL, Robert Norton of HI, and Maryanne O'Malley of West Roxbury. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday from 4-7PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole.
