Joanne (Gagnon) Farnum age 78 years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 28, 1932; she was the daughter of the late William "Jack" and Mary (Piveronus) Gagnon. She graduated from Hyde Park High School with the class of 1950. She has been a resident of Walpole since 1960 moving there from Mattapan.
She worked as a home health aide for the Walpole VNA for many years.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed gardening, dancing, crafts, reading, and watching Jeopardy. She and her husband recently celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary, and together they enjoyed taking cruises to Bermuda. Mrs. Farnum especially loved spending time with her family.
Beloved wife of Ronald D. Farnum. Loving mother of Ronald D. Farnum, Jr. of Branford, Fl, Donna M. Gillis of Norton, Charles L. Farnum of Mary Esta, Florida, Linda J. Bleakney of Needham, Karen Farland of Walpole, and the late Cheryl Ann Farnum. Cherished grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 6. Sister of Claire Hanley of Florida, Philip Gagnon of Randolph, and the late William Gagnon. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Mary's Church 176 Washington Street East Walpole on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours are Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery.
