Joan A. McCarthy

Mrs. Joan A. (Shanks) McCarthy age 76 died in the Cartias Norwood Hosptial, Norwood, Massachusetts on Friday morning, January 11th, 2008. Born in Medford, Massachusetts on July 26, 1931, the daughter of the late Theodore D. and Della (Bresnahan) Shanks. She graduated from Hyde Park High School with the Class of 1949.

A resident of Walpole since 1957, moving here from Hyde Park. Mrs. McCarthy was a homemaker and mom. She worked several part time jobs after her children were grown in the Walpole area. She was a former member of the Walpole Mother of Twins Club .

Beloved wife of Charles P. McCarthy Loving mother of Kathleen Tripp of East Walpole, Marie P. McCarthy of Walpole and Michael P. McCarthy of North Attleboro. Cherished grandmother of Jessica L. Tripp of East Walpole, Jonathan W. Tripp of New York City, Bailey C. McCarthy and Max W. McCarthy both of Watertown, Connectictut Sister of George Shanks of Canton, Marilyn Corbin of Tewksbury, Linda Bottary of Norwood, and Theodore Shanks of Attleboro

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral Service that will be held in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole on Wednesday Morning, January 15, 2008 @ 11AM. Visiting hours are Tuesday afternoon and evening, January 14, 2008, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Interment will be private.
