Jill Ann Grillo, age 59, passed away on February 12, 2025, at Shore Point Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida, with her sister, Jeff, and her BFF Kelly by her side. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on January 13, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jean Ann (Norton) Grillo.
Jill enjoyed a wonderful childhood along her brother and sister in Warwick where they lived next door to their grandparents. The family moved to Walpole in 1970 and shortly after, her parents got Jill her first cat, Sparky. This started her lifelong love of animals, but specifically cats. Jill had a passion for cooking, so it was a natural fit for her to attend Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School where she specialized in culinary arts. After graduating with the class of 1984, she worked as a cook on and off all her life. Those around her were lucky enough to enjoy some of her specialties such as her famous ribs.
In 2008 Jill bought a house in Dedham where she could garden and listen to the sound of her windchimes. Around 2018, Jill reconnected with a friend from high school, Phil, who she quickly realized was her partner in life. Jill was a kind soul, so after the passing of her brother, Joe, in 2024, Jill happily took in his three cats, Larry, Whitey, and Tuck, who came to live with her cats Fruit Loop and Little Lady.
In recent years, Jill got back in touch with some high school friends who encouraged her to join them in Florida. Jill always enjoyed spending time at the beach, walking along the sand and surf, and collecting seashell, so Florida seemed like the perfect place for her. She was a devoted and loving friend, and those close to her knew how incredibly generous she was. She would always do anything she could for those around her. Her sister, Julie, was her best friend, and the two would talk a dozen times a day. Whenever someone told her “I love you” she would always respond with “I love you more”.
