Jeffrey Albert Sawyer, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2021 at his home in North Attleborough, Massachusetts. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on January 18, 1949, he was the son of the late Donald A. and Kathryn S. (Shorey) Sawyer. He was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1967. Following his graduation, Jeff enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. Upon his honorable discharge in 1975, Jeff returned to his hometown of Walpole and took classes at Dean Junior College in Franklin to earn his associate's degree.
Jeff spent his working career in the information technology field. He retired from the Massachusetts Department of Health, serving the Wrentham State School as the lead IT technician for many years.
When he wasn't hard at work, Jeff enjoyed searching for the perfect fishing spot to cast his lure and try his luck. He also enjoyed some quiet time at home, reading one of his favorite books. Most of all, he will be remembered for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
Beloved brother of Aaron Sawyer and his wife, Sharon, of Augusta, Maine, Marilyn Sullivan and her husband, Michael, of Canton, Patricia Baptiste and her husband, Walter, of Sarasota, Florida, and Robert Sawyer and his wife, Olga, of Dudley.
Cherished uncle of Kathryn Rose Vidrine, Aaron Christopher Sawyer, Abigail Sawyer Keenan, Daniel Sawyer, Kevin Sullivan, Kerry Silva, Brian Sullivan, and the late Kelli Ann Baptiste.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Jeff's Life Celebration on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 9 to 10:30 AM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 10:30. Interment will take place in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
